The Artist

Let me paint you as you are-

Unhidden, unafraid, unyielding.

I’ll choose the colors that know you best,

The ones that draw out the ocean‑blue

Resting quietly in your eyes.

You hold the morning dawn

The way light holds the horizon,

Soft gold gathering along your skin

Like the Sun choosing only you.

Words fall short of your uniqueness—

Your innocence, your presence,

The way you linger in my thoughts

Long after the room goes still.
